A mother's dream of seeing her daughter presented at a Debutante ball has tragic results. Being the daughter of a prominent astronaut as well as her mother's prodding succeeds in her invitation to be one of the Debutantes. But there is tension within the society girls as well as one of the men who has been harboring the known secret within the set that he is a 'Jew' which should have made him ineligible.
