The most memorable episode of the short lived Circus Boy series centered around series regular Guinn Williams. In it he almost gets to ride off to glory.
Back in the day before Guinn Williams became the head roustabout for Big Tim Champion's circus it turns out he was a cowboy and worked for a someone who eventually became a rather well known New York politician. Actually at this time he was a rather well known national figure, the recently resigned Assistant Secretary of the Navy in the McKinley administration who was busy forming the First Volunteer Cavalry for the newly declared Spanish-American War.
Ed Cassidy plays Theodore Roosevelt and when they greet each other as 'Pete' and 'Teddy' you can see young Mickey Dolenz's face just light up. Actually anyone who had any kind of familiarity with Theodore Roosevelt would NEVER have addressed him as Teddy.
The end result though was that Pete did not join the Rough Riders, but did stay with the circus until the run of this series was concluded.
