Barbecuing a kidney stone
6 July 2016 | by (Youngstown,Ohio) – See all my reviews

"The Hot Rock" is a kidney stone that gives Ed, the pain in the a--, a pain that leaves him hunched over. Louie drops by with a crazy idea for barbecuing through solar power, offering Ed a partnership for $2400. Two different medical insurance policies inspires a get rich quick scheme to receive expensive surgery under cynical doctor Herb Edelman. Della warns him about going under the knife unnecessarily, especially after her uncle wandered into the wrong operating room and came out her aunt! Fellow patient Berkowitz (Ned Glass) shows off his broken bones, all of which resulted from a simple blood test in 'this wonderful hospital!' Kathleen Doyle, who'd previously played a nurse on James Komack's WELCOME BACK, KOTTER, repeats the part here unbilled.
