"The Giveaway" is a gimmick dreamed up by Chico, offering free dishes for every 12 gallons of gas sold. Ed objects to the kid's staying out late every night for six weeks, enjoying the company of Patty Bertran (Diana Canova's second and final appearance). After Ed learns that she hasn't seen him for several weeks, he unsuccessfully attempts to pry into Chico's private life. Introducing himself as the new priest at the local parish, Father O'Malley (Roger C. Carmel, first of two appearances) informs Ed about a rash of robberies plaguing the neighborhood. In the end, now fired from his part time job at a nearby gas station, Chico insists that Ed need not worry about him 24 hours a day: "I have to, it's not easy to get cheap help!" Chico: "I'm no help" Ed: "you're telling me!"
