Rose Marie as Kissy Face
kevinolzak23 July 2016
"Ready When You Are, CB" is the episode that touches on the CB craze of the late 70s, using handles like Lonesome Rabbit (an unbilled Bill McLean) or Fuddy Duddy. It's New Year's Eve, a time for Chico, Louie, and Della to shake a rug, but for Ed, who is reminded of his late wife, another opportunity to stay home and reflect while working on one of Della's meals on wheels. An open CB and a girl proclaiming herself Kissy Face (Rose Marie) gives him the chance to adopt a new moniker, Huggy Body, 'shakin' it' in his own 'pit stop!' Kissy Face decides to drop by, as she's getting low on 'motion lotion' aka 'go go juice' or gasoline (the address of Ed Brown's garage is 1432 La Paloma Lane). One look at each other, and the party's over: "your body sure ain't huggy!" "and your face ain't kissy! Now I know what they mean by CB, Creepy Broad!" "you know what you look like, nine miles of bad road!" "You look like what caused it!" "why don't you blow it out your exhaust pipe!" Trading insults actually works to bring them closer, both widowed and miserable in their mutual loneliness. A more pleasant evening involves dancing to the sounds of Glenn Miller. After discovering lipstick in the garage, Louie can only conclude one thing: "looks like our little old party pooper found a party who unpooped him!" Finding Ed on the CB radio, Chico adopts the name Angry Matador, takes one look at Louie and proclaims him Trashy Can!
