"Morgan and the Man" opens with Chico lamenting a recent purchase: "this is the last time we buy tires from Sanford and Son!" (the series originally followed SANFORD AND SON at 8:30 on Friday nights). Nancy Watiz Mackintosh (Rose Portillo), a former classmate of Chico's who gave up her pom poms when she left California, having wed a star football player at age 16. Ed is the first to meet her daughter Morgan (Kristi Jill Wood), her well traveled father now a member of the Buffalo Bills. This time, Chico's attempt at a marriage proposal isn't so much rejected as postponed. Another promising love interest is nipped in the bud by this lone appearance, both mother and daughter real charmers, though Nancy gets a mention in one further episode, "Champs Ain't Chumps."
