Ralph Manza and Penny Marshall
17 July 2016 | by (Youngstown,Ohio) – See all my reviews

"Chico and the Van" opens with building inspector Hector Gomez (Ralph Manza) threatening fines for Ed Brown's faulty wiring, an illegible license, and unauthorized use of a vehicle for sleeping quarters, namely Chico's cozy little van. Ed magnanimously invites Chico to live in his upstairs room, but the first night almost becomes their last. Once Gomez informs Ed that the van could be used for security, guess who is elected to become the new security guard? Penny Marshall, on the verge of stardom opposite Cindy Williams on LAVERNE AND SHIRLEY, has a nice bit as waitress Anita Cappuccino. Ralph Manza, a familiar face well versed in comedy, would return as Hector Gomez in the fourth season episode "Ed the Hero."
