- After returning to the town he lived in as boy, newly elected Sheriff Bodie has to find and arrest a murderer even though this brings back bad memories for everyone, including Cheyenne. Johnny Kent is wrongly accused of the murder.
- Cheyenne returns to the town, High Point, of his youth where he lived with the Pierce family after he left the Cheyenne Indians. He passes by the tree where Mr. Pierce was lynched by a mob. Mrs. Pierce and her two children Randy and Fay left the town while Cheyenne struck out on his own. Upon entering the saloon he sees that Hugo Parma is still Sheriff and Reed Moriarity who lead the lynch mod is his lackey. An Indian Joe Maybe enters the saloon with a chit from Parma's foreman for Parma to pay him $10 for rounding up cattle. Parma instead knocks him down and has him jailed for entering the saloon. Cheyenne helps Joe and then defeats Parma arm wrestling after being challenged. He picks up the chit which he takes to the Sheriff's office to pay Joe's fine. After seeing Cheyenne challenge Parma, local citizens who recognize Cheyenne ask him to run for Sheriff. He does and wins but doesn't realize he is facing the fact that Randy Pierce has returned for revenge putting Cheyenne in the middle.—Anonymous
