Storyline

Cheyenne is driving into Oxbend when he spots a sheep shot in the leg near a sign saying sheep and sheep men are not welcome in Oxbend. When he arrives with the lone sheep in his wagon, he finds himself looking down a gun barrel and told to disarm. A visitor from the east, Darcy Clay, sends for Sheriff Ben Jethro who knows Cheyenne and vouches for him. Cheyenne is there to check on a ranch he is interested in buying to raise horses. After talking to Perly Wilkens who owns the ranch, he decides to pass on the deal because the price is too low. He realizes Perly is selling under stress. The threat of sheep coming into the basin has all the small ranchers scared and selling because of the folklore that sheep and cattle can't coexist. Cheyenne knows they can if the sheep are pastured after the cattle who leave plenty for the sheep. He looks into who is behind bringing in the sheep while temporarily accepting a deputy's badge. He uncovers the cause and who is taking advantage of it. Written by Anonymous
