Cheyenne takes the foreman job at a ranch run by a hardheaded rancher with a crippled daughter and a stepson. The rancher ran off the last foreman due to his attentions toward his daughter. Cheyenne soon questions the rancher's actions.

Cheyenne hires on as the new foreman at Moon Mesa after receiving a letter from the owner Hub Lassiter. Cheyenne senses the tension when he meets Hub's daughter Ellen who is confined to a wheelchair after an accident many years earlier. Hub is suspicious of anyone who looks twice at her, proving that by running off the previous foreman Clay Mason. After working many years to create the Mesa from the ground up, Hub would like his stepson Wes to show him that he can do more than just ride into town to get the mail. He also wants Wes to take over the ranch and care of Ellen if something happens to Hub. In addition, a problem is occurring in the area with rustlers. Hub lost 100 head himself and a local ranch hand was murdered. Cheyenne catches Clay trying to enter the Moon Mesa property. Hub blames him for the rustling and murder but Clay tells a different story that has Cheyenne's interest. Cheyenne learns from some of the crew that Hub isn't the only one to steer clear of at the ranch -... Written by DrDOS
