"Don't worry about me. You just look out for Bodie." (Kiley Rand)

Warning: Spoilers
This one starts with Cheyenne Bodie almost getting a knife in the back from a hired killer he recognizes. The sheriff saves his life and recruits Cheyenne to take the assassin's place and find out who hired him. The only clue they have is the killer's dying word, "Bridgeman." The sheriff thinks immediately of Les Bridgeman, local rancher with a temper who is embroiled in a feud with another rancher. There's a twist when Cheyenne discovers who actually hired the hit man and why.

Les Bridgeman, played with jovial guilelessness by Alan Hale Jr., hires Cheyenne as a ranch hand, blissfully unaware of his true purpose for being there. Cheyenne meets the other cowpokes and everyone seems to get along well and be above reproach. When he meets Lilly Bridgeman (Whitney Blake), he senses that all might not be well on Bridgeman Ranch. Not until he sees her kissing rival rancher Kiley Rand (Don Megowan) in town is he able to put two and two together.

Even though Lilly tries to discredit Cheyenne in her husband's eyes by accusing him of making advances, Les Bridgeman isn't as ingenuous as everyone thinks. With Cheyenne's help, he and his ranch hands thwart not only his untimely demise but also Rand's attempt to drive cattle across his land in a destructive wave. The last scene has Lilly being sent packing.

Clint Walker is fine, as usual, along with the rest of the cast, in making this drama an intriguing stop along the way in Cheyenne Bodie's continuing trek in search of that piece of land to call home.
