Cheyenne is forced to join an outlaw gang lead by the "Ghost of the Cimarron". He is the only person who can clear Cheyenne with the law who was framed for reward money. Over time Cheyenne comes to realize why the man is respected.
Doc Johnson's gang is outside the town of Comanche planning their next bank job. Cheyenne walks up on them after losing his horse to a mountain lion. As they are not sure what he heard, they force him to come along. What they all soon realize is that thanks to the Kiowa Kid, they are riding into an ambush that nets everyone except Doc, wounded gang member Luke and Cheyenne who must now try to undo the Kid's betrayal. Luke sacrifices himself to save Doc which surprises Cheyenne not expecting honor among thieves. Doc was shot near the knee but him and Cheyenne make it to a cave for cover. Cheyenne returns to Comanche to clear himself but learns the Kiowa Kid said he is a gang member for another $200. Cheyenne returns to Doc, removes the bullet, and then the two hide out at a old female friend of Doc until he heals for a price. They hear the Kiowa Kid is in another town. They arrive there by stage and meet the local Sheriff Kim Younger who is an old friend of Doc. Cheyenne gains valuable... Written by
When Cheyenne and Doc Johnson arrive by stagecoach, the voice of the driver is dubbed by William Fawcett who played that type of role in many a western throughout his movie career. See more »
Clyde Howdy plays three parts. One as a member of a posse who gets shot, another as a bar patron and still another as a posse member in a different town. As a member of the first posse he even had a mustache. See more »
