Storyline

The gang decide to watch an old Red Sox game on a classic sports channel, a game in which Sam played. As this game took place during one of his drunk years, Sam is unsure if he played well or made a fool of himself in the game. Since he finds out he pitched three innings in the game, he assumes he played well. After Sam makes a big deal about watching the game, Carla reminds him that that game was indeed not one of his finest moments. Sam does whatever he can to prevent the gang from watching it. Meanwhile, Norm is being audited. The auditor is Dot Carroll, a gravelly-voiced, chain-smoking, no-nonsense, scary tough broad. Norm, the ex-accountant, knows he can fudge his way through the audit even without legitimate receipts, but when his tricks don't work, he resorts to a tactic suggested by Carla: flirt. It works, much to Norm's dismay, as Dot invites Norm back to her hotel room. But a faithful Norm now doesn't know what to do as Dot expects a sexual evening. Norm learns that what may... Trivia

The role of Dot Carroll, played in the episode by Sharon Barr, was originally to be played by Elaine Stritch. Stitch left the role due to creative differences with producers. Barr was called in at the last minute after having played "Connie" in the episode Bidding on the Boys. She is the only actor to have played two different roles during the run of Cheers. See more »

Quotes

Norm Peterson: Hey Cliffy. Whatcha doing?
Cliff Clavin: I'm filling out an application for the Boston Marathon. It's something I do every year.
Norm Peterson: What, you mean you run in the Boston Marathon?
Cliff Clavin: No, no, I just get the free T-shirt. It impresses the girls down in the gym.
Norm Peterson: Ah. Wait, wait, wait. You work out in a gym?
Cliff Clavin: Nah. I just hang out in front with the T-shirt.

Norm's Big Audit (#11.13)
5 July 2014 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Norm is being audited. Carla suggests him to flirt with the woman who does it to get out of trouble. Dot is a very scary woman but Norm does it anyways. So she invites him into her hotel to have a very kinky night. Norm thinks how to get out of it and Carla pretends to be Vera coming to the hotel room, but Dot doesn't believe it. Norm says he doesn't want to cheat on his wife.

I love Norm, but to be honest when he described how treats Vera I felt he was not just a bad husband but also a bad person regardless of him not cheating. Was great to see Dot again. I believe she was the one who won Woody in auction once!
