Storyline

It's Thanksgiving, and all the orphaned regulars of the bar have decided to have dinner together at Cheers. These include a recently separated Frasier and his son Frederick, Carla and three of her fatherless kids (Lucinda, Jesse and Elvis), a Vera-less for the holidays and somewhat confused Norm with his barcalounger, a Ma-less for the holidays Cliff, host and hostess Sam and Rebecca, and for a short but unexpected time John Allen Hill, whose kitchen, silverware, plates and candlesticks the gang are using. One not there is Woody, who is having dinner with the Gaines family. Mr. Gaines recently made Woody sign a power of attorney document, and Sam thinks that the Gaines family is taking advantage of naive Woody. Sam suggests to Woody that he stand up to Mr. Gaines, to say that he's disappointed in him, that he should be ashamed of himself, and that he should give Woody the respect he deserves. Woody does so, but not before Woody walks in on Mr. Gaines having an affair with his ... Written by Huggo

Goofs

(at around 15 mins) Frasier Crane is visible through the window of the front door of Cheers. He appears to be standing and waiting for his cue to go on. He even looks in through the window as if to gauge when he should be going on. A minute later, Frasier enters carrying his jacket and his son Frederick as if he has just arrived. It is possible that Frasier could have been waiting to enter the bar for some other reason, but it looks more like an actor waiting for his cue. See more »

Quotes

Rebecca Howe: I really think I can put together a great Thanksgiving dinner. This will be the second one that I've cooked, and believe me the first one was not the disaster that my family said it was. Those kids had a pretty good time in that ambulance. It's kind of exciting for them, I mean it wasn't the same-old, same-old.

Ill-Gotten Gaines (#11.8)
2 July 2014 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Woody's father in law comes to make Woody sign a contract where he may get in charge of Woody's affairs. Woody then goes to demand respect, and this happens when Kelly's dad is sleeping with his brother's wife. Thinking that he got caught and this is a blackmail he agrees to bond with Woody more.

An amusing episode. I liked the whole misunderstanding between Woody and father in law that made the poor man do all the low middle class activities with Woody. The way it ended was all pretty fun too.

The Thanksgiving story was alright. Not really funny unfortunately but it was not a big part of the episode.
