Finally!: Part 1 (#8.15)
ComedyFan201010 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Robin takes Rebecca to a tribute dinner. He also invites Sam to learn more about baseball but kicks him out of the limo when Rebecca and him are making out. The two also finally have sex that night. Sam thinks that now it will be over for Robin and Rebecca but Robin confesses his love to her. She is excited and Sam tries to feel good for her but when celebrating the event at a burger place he sees Robin going in with another woman.

A very good story. And an ending that makes one wait for the second part of the episode to see how it works out. robin shows his ugly side but it is performed so greatly that I would hate for them to lose this character.

Colcord the Rat
Hitchcoc1 September 2019
Sam is invited to go to a banquet with Robin and Rebecca, honoring Carl Yastrzemski. But on the way, Sam, who is there to help Robin understand baseball, is kicked out of the limo. Robin tells Rebecca he loves her and the two finally get it on. She is just glowing, but she is compassionate toward Sam because of his caring for her. Good first half of the episode.

Give My Best To Yaz

Warning: Spoilers
Rebecca finally has sex with Robin Colcord, ending her three years of celibacy. This is a very good episode that sets up the Rebecca/Robin storyline for the rest of the season.

Rebecca in afterglow is hilarious, and Kirstie shines as she gets a new set of emotions to play with. Norm, who has always professed his undying love for The Hungry Heifer restaurant, suddenly and inexplicably reveals his real favorite eatery is Little Wally's Pup 'N Burger. This makes no logical sense, and neither does the fact that Woody coincidentally orders his lunch from the same place on the very same night. Norm's Un-Joke of the day: "If Little Wally is in a good mood he'll let you scratch your initials into HIM!" If anyone can make any logical sense or find a kernel of humor in that sentence please feel free to e-mail me as soon as possible.

But back to the good stuff. The writers have wisely- and maturely- given up on a Sam & Rebecca romance... at least for now. This is a pretty bold move for a show that had been founded on its two leads being in love, or at least in an on-again/off-again, will-they-or-won't-they, Him Vs. Her, opposites attract, cliffhanging love triangle romantic soap opera (with sustained flirtation.) And there are some nice moments in the episode, opportunities for the characters to show some unexpected humanity, especially Sam and Rebecca.

This episode is so full with story points there's no time to catch your breath... but the jokes are so strong they support the weight of all the exposition. And in the spirit of the episode, I will also end this review with "To Be Continued..."
