An edifice complex
3 March 2016 | by (Buffalo, New York) – See all my reviews

Lloyd Bridges both guest stars and is the client of this Checkmate story. Lloyd is a millionaire who has made his living building a whole lot of large skyscrapers. Some would say he has an edifice complex, like Donald Trump loves to see his name on things.

But making money in certain ways can make you enemies. That's where Checkmate comes in. And ironically enough the major suspect in a plot to kill him is Lloyd Bridges playing a dual role as his eccentric brother who now designs toys, but at one time was a promising architect.

Can't really say more than that. But it takes a while for Checkmate and the audience to catch on. I will say that a very intricately plotted scheme is foiled.

Bridges is wonderful in the two roles he essays.
