Anthony George and Doug McClure are guests on a working ranch, not a dude ranch that is owned by brothers Ed Binns and Paul Birch. Several years back in need of capital the brothers incorporated the ranch and now face a hostile takeover. Earl Holliman is the face of the hostile takeover. The ranch looks just about right for some real estate development. It's also Holliman and secretary Ellyn Burstyn who bring in the Checkmate Organization in as there have been some threats and shots fired.
This is an interesting episode in that if you think you know where this is going you do not. Imagine if you will the descendants of the Cartwright family incorporating the Ponderosa and then having to face some Donald Trump like creature trying to move in. But even the brothers are not completely united here.
