Job and marriage in jeopardy
7 March 2016 | by (Buffalo, New York) – See all my reviews

Checkmate's services sends them to Washington, DC where Macdonald Carey, an old friend of Sebastian Cabot is up for a big job in what we would now call a think tank. But Carey is having himself a mid-life crisis after falling for young Kathleen Crowley. Their affair could put both his job and marriage in jeopardy.

We never get to see the wronged wife in this episode she's back in California. But she has a few defenders in the capital and at least one of them has made some threats against Crowley's person.

Both Anthony George and Sebastian Cabot are on the scene. But the Checkmate regulars just function as spectators here as the situation resolves itself.

Nice performances by Carey and Crowley and also Maxine Stuart as Carey's nasty sister-in-law and Peter Helm as his teen son in a local boarding school.
