It is time for some explanations. Although we know that Chris is not trustworthy, the past episodes have shown him as a basically good character, so we now want to know the why behind all his actions. This episode partially fills in the blanks, as for once it adopts Chris's point of view, jumping from his past (in the future) to his present (in the present and the future). I am not certain that the "big revelation" really works, since the dialog has been blatantly not naming names, but well, it still provides a very good development for the season.There are some huge flaws in the plot, though. First : did there HAVE to be flying cars in that future ? It's the most cliché-ed anticipation thing ever, and besides, this is only supposed to happen twenty-two years from now ! Second : while the side-plot with the inhibition spell does prompt some changes and provides some nice scenes(just watch Leo's wry smile when he throws that potion at Piper ! bet he's wanted to do that for years !) it seems very inconsistent with the gravity of Chris's situation. And third : what about Bianca ? She had a lot of potential as a character, but she's never been mentioned and never will be again. So instead of giving depth to Chris's character, she merely is a cheap and artificial device to make us sorry for him. The plot should rather have concentrated on Chris's relationship with Wyatt, even at the expense of the last-minute twist.
