Storyline

Mylie, a mermaid, is prepared to sacrifice her immortality to the sea hag, an evil witch who must deliver eternal life to the skeleton demon Necron, in order to share life with her human lover Craig Wilson, a hunky businessman, and needs him to explicitly express his true love for her, which seems utterly pointless fussing to him, so Mylie turns to hearts column writer Phoebe, who is resuming her career, like Paige who even gets a promotion to social worker. Phoebe had thoroughly prepared her divorce on account of Cole's disappearance, but at the very moment the judge was about to sign, his presence completely undoes her plan. Cole has resumed his job as lawyer, and is determined to help Darryl too, whether his impressive magical powers are wanted or not. While the sisters help Mylie, Phoebe gets transformed into a mermaid herself, increasingly subject to the call of the ocean... Written by KGF Vissers

Goofs

A shot from outside Halliwell manor shows Leo leaning out of a round window, but in the next shot from inside, the window is octagonal. Leo's size in the outside shot is also disproportionate to his actual size, as he appears taller than the entire front door. See more »

Paige Matthews: You want water? I'll get you some water.
[Phoebe is thrown in a bathtub]
Phoebe Halliwell: You are holding me hostage.
Paige Matthews: Yep, looks like it.
Phoebe Halliwell: Look, I am not a common goldfish. I cannot ignore the call of the sea.
Paige Matthews: Well, the call of the common bathtub is just going to have to do.

Sail the seas
7 September 2016 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This has to be the most unusual and unique entry in the Charmed universe dealing with a mermaid. I love when the show isn't afraid to take risks or try new things like an episode dealing with water. What makes it wonderful is the Sea Hag who is insidious, has a fitting look and provides a great performance. Her power is brilliantly thought up and used to perfection. She probably ranks number five on my favorite villain's list. Her scrawl alone was chilling even if you knew nothing about her.

The music is memorable adding to the danger and magical nature swirling around the sisters. The story lines both keep you interested even though it makes you feel pity for two important characters. I like how it goes further with exploring Piper's insecurities and worrying about her impending motherhood.

Charmed hit a home run idea and I can't wait to see if it continues delivering more like it.
