- TriviaNational play by play broadcaster, St Louis native, Joe Buck unknowingly wrote himself into several episodes of the first season by appearing on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien", Buck sitting with Conan jokingly commented on an incident where a Milwaukee Brewers mascot got hit by Pirates First Basemen Randel Simon in a recent game... "I personally found it funny, mascots can be creepy, they're evil, in St Louis, the Cardinals mascot has his own TV show, halfway thru the season, he stinks all of the time, he smells so bad, mascots are out of control." Several episodes following, Cardinals mascot Fredbird demanded an apology from Joe, "on behalf of mascots around the world, we do not stink, I didn't make fun him growing up sucking his thumb, playing the trumpet, and his four eyes..." This lead to the "Bird vs Buck, Mascots are Evil " episode where an actual press conference took place at Busch Stadium, held prior to an "ESPN Wednesday Night Baseball" game. Episode included statements from Fredbird, host Andy Benes, Joe Buck, Joe's sister Julie, who was the series feature reporter and producer. The entire St Louis media arrived, Radio, TV, Print, reporters Martin Kilcoyne, Rick Hummel, Doug Vaughn, Frank Cusumano, Fox Sports Midwest, Al Hrabosky, ESPN's Chris Berman. Fredbird took questions from Buck's 4 year old nephew.
