The boys are told to shut down a gypsy ripoff artist, and when they do, the gypsy puts a curse on Toody.
One of the things that makes "Toody" (Joe E. Ross) so lovable, is that he is so dumb and gullible. In this episode, he and Muldoon shut down a fake gypsy fortune teller. The latter, incensed at what just happened, lays a "curse" on Guenther, stating his back would break out in hives and his wife would leave him.
Back at the station, Toody is already checking his back every 10 minutes. He believes he's been cursed. He's afraid to go home because Lucille has probably left him.
What actually happens is hilarious, especially between Toody and Lucille (Beatrice Pons). I still think those two made the funniest couple in TV history (they were also couples on "You'll Never Get Rich" with Phil Silvers prior to this series.) The gypsy woman, "Anna Lupesko" was good, too, and played by veteran stage and screen actress Maureen Stapleton.
