Making Captain Block Happy
26 August 2011 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

One thing you can usually say - "Toody, "Mudoon" and the guys in the 53rd precinct - are good-hearted guys. In this episode, Toody and Muldoon go to great lengths, along with some "help" from "Schnauser," to please their captain on his 25th wedding anniversary.

They discover that Captain Block is an antiques collector and his prize piece is an Aleutian Ceremonial Chair which is a ludicrous-looking chair with a moose-head on top of it. Whatever. Block says, however, it isn't worth much if you don't have both pieces. There is another man on Staten Island who has the other but simply won't sell it to the captain. Block would give anything to have the matching set.

Thus, the boys go to work. The humor starts when they accidentally discover the matching chair in the window of an auction house....and then attend the auction with a strategy. What happens to that strategy is pretty funny.

Rest assured, though, that all is well that ends well....but there are a lot of bumps down that road, as usual.
