Deep Agent

Guest villain in this Cade's County story is William Shatner who is a deep agent for a foreign power and his mission is to blow up a nuclear missile base in Madrid County. The resulting explosion will be a holocaust.

This is similar in plot to such big screen classic films as Telefon and Little Nikita. Shatner moves to Madrid County and marries local girl Mariette Hartley and establishes himself as a community pillar.

This one of the best episodes of the series. You won't believe that a little boy's tip leads to Shatner's downfall. So many small details get overlooked.

I'll never be tired of those opening sequences in this TV show; maybe more than the other ones. See for yourself: A lone motorcycle patrolman, right in the middle of the desert, asks a truck driver in charge of an explosive shipment to stop, for checking. And the patrol man shots the driver in the back, just before grabbing what's inside the truck. End of the opening sequence. What's best to attract the audiences?

And the whole episode is worth too, I can assure you. Especially when you see that the evil guest star is no one else than William Shatner. And not as a common, usual criminal. No, he is a sort of foreign agent mercenary. This episode sounds nearly an espionage story. One of the best of the show, I guess.
