Second Story Outshined First

The place: a swanky penthouse-type place. The event: an art reception. The crime: some stud is getting it on with big-chested woman outside the party when an arrow comes out of nowhere and pins both of them to the wall, killing her. Mac, Stella and Don try to figure out what happened and who was the target: he or she?

Story two: a man is found on the ground in front of a music store with his face covered with glue, making a mask of it. He's dead. It turns out this is some "turf war" between guys who plaster up all those posters you see on walls and buildings and windows, promoting rock groups. Danny and Lyndsay try to figure how how the main was killed and who did it.

Here's a case where the second story, usually given less play, was better than the first story. That shouldn't have been as the first had better possibilities.

Screw up

This show uses a guy that was incarcerated on CSI: Miami. Gozalo Menendez was Clavo Cruz who Horatio Caine arrested. Aren't there enough actors in Hollywood that they shouldn't have to reuse actors that were arrested in the same franchise? I couldn't even watch the rest of the show after I noticed this. I don't understand how they could screw up something this obvious seeing as a lot of people who watch on of the shows will also watch the others. Do they not consult each other? They use the CSI's sometimes to cross over on the shows so how would they not know when an actor has already been incarcerated and then use them in one of the other shows in the franchise as a different subject.
