'Who Ratted Me Out?'
16 December 2009 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

The question posed above was a statement made by a suspect. You have to watch this episode appreciate his remarks, which have to do with a crime that involved rats. The writers had a fun time with that particular story, using several puns en route to solving the murder mystery.

There are two cases to solve in this episode. The first involves a pretty woman who staggers onto the red carpet and some fancy black-tie affair and then collapses. She lives, but has been raped and is badly injured. Mac, Stella, Danny tire to find out what happened to her and where with Stella taking it personally. They know it happened in Central Park which gives them "an 800-square mile crime scene." Soon, thanks to flowers, it is narrowed down to the Strawberry Fields area. Later, it slowly unravels.

The second crime is discovered with a male dead body in an alley. He has been shot and has track wounds on him indicating drug use. Mac, Aiden, Flack and Medical Examiner Hawkes find out some surprising things early on, such as there is no bullet in the man's body because rats ate it! Chew on that awhile! If you're queasy about rats, this is not an episode to watch. Also.......aw, never mind. No sense giving too much away, but it's an interesting case.
