While retrieving a car with two young girls in it which went flying over a bridge into the water, a third body is found. Unlike the two passengers, this woman is dead. It's determined she's been dead for about 24 hours. On the scene, Horatio discovers he knows this woman and was with her just two nights ago. "Frank," he tell the police detective and friend, Frank Tripp, "you better make it quick because right now I am the only suspect."
Frank reluctantly questions Horatio as he would any suspect. As things turn out, Horatio is being framed for the murder. It all stems back from a case 10 years ago in New York City. As the evidence against Caine mounts, the CSI team works to clear his name and get the real killer.
We find out fairly soon who the real killer is, "Walter Resden" (Damian Young) but he's so clever, so smart, he is hard to nab. This is a suspenseful episode that leaves the door open for future stories involving this maniac.
