Storyline

Wealthy Roy Logan acts suspiciously when withdrawing $1,000,000 cash and his blood on his hands, but must be released for lack of a crime. When Catherine rushes after him with his spectacles, she gets a phone-call and is shown a severed finger proving Logan's adulterous lover Amanda Freeman was kidnapped. Logan ignores her advice, almost greedily handing over the ransom without proof of life, and Amanda is found where indicated- murdered days before. Written by KGF Vissers

Goofs

When the LVPD officer stops Roy Logan after he leaves the bank, he notices what looks like blood on Logan's hands. Yet the bank teller and manager in the previous scene apparently never noticed the blood, despite having numerous opportunities during the hour they spent with him, including several close views of his hands (such as when he presented his driver's license). When he was in the bank, blood was also not apparent to viewers, so the makeup department must not have added it during that scene. See more »

The Finger
24 December 2010 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Super slick episode of CSI has Catherine running around with a murder suspect with a bloody finger linked to the man's girlfriend. So Catherine answers the phone and hears a squeaky voice which tells her to drop all her gear and drive Logan's car to a specific destination to make a "cash transaction". Logan(Tom Irwin)would trade a million bucks for his girlfriend..that's the kidnapper's deal. But all is not what it seems. The finger, wine glasses, curtain liner, peanut butter, glow paint on dollar bills, a piece of granite stone embedded in a skull, and someone negotiating the kidnapping trade wearing a bunny mask, packing heat..THE FINGER is a standard of excellence in writing and performance. The clues and chicanery involved, not to mention, Catherine's methods for leaving evidence through ingenious methods while unable to talk to her CSI colleagues, but the twist as to the identity of the killer is a humdinger which puts the icing on the cake. Lots of twists and turns in this one; I'm sure this is one that many consider as essential viewing for fans of the series.
