Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): After Gil and Catherine find the silver BMW in the shack, they open the trunk and find a body with a chunk missing from the back of its head. Gil says he doubts it is a suicide and reaches into the trunk and removes a crowbar. As he holds it up, he calls it a tire iron. The octagonal shape of the bar, the leverage curve and the v-notch on the working end are clearly visible. A tire iron has the flat opposite of the curved end, the flat doesn't have a notch, and the curve is a dog-leg instead of a U. This mistake is also repeated during the autopsy when Gil states "We found a tire iron at the scene..."
