When Grissom mentions the Edinburgh body snatchers Burke and Hare, Catherine Willows remarks "Is this part of the Sherlock Holmes Fan Club Kit?". Sherlock Holmes author Arthur Conan Doyle attended the very medical school at which Burke and Hare submitted their victims.
