When David Philips, the assistant coroner, takes the temperature from victim Mandi Klinefeld, the camera detail shots show his hands inserting the thermometer into a white shirt with a round bloody hole, but shots showing Philips himself seem to retract the thermometer from somewhere near the body's waist area. He seems to retract the thermometer twice - once in the background of the previous shot, and once in the shot where Grissom stands over Philips and victim Klinefeld. See more
