Caribbean Chase - 1960 This is an episode from the 39 episode, one season run of CORONADO 9.

P.I. Rod Cameron has just flown into Havana as the revolution is starting. He is there to buy a large cabin cruiser. Because of the political events he is getting a hell of a deal on the boat. As he prepares to set sail for Miami, pretty Donna Martell boards his boat.

Martell wants passage for her and her father to Miami. See tosses Cameron a grand. A grand is a grand and he agrees. Martell says she will be back shortly with her father. 20 minutes later, Martell comes barrelling down the quay with three rather upset men in hot pursuit. She jumps on the boat and tells Cameron to go.

After they are out of the harbour, Martell explains that the three men were Cuban agents. They had killed her father and were now after her. Cameron tells her to calm down as they will be in Miami soon.

An hour later, Cameron notices that they are slowly being overtaken by another boat. As each hour passes, the pursuing boat draws closer. Cameron heads for a small island and runs the boat ashore. He grabs his pistol, Martell, and then hotfoots it into the foliage.

The pursuers soon land and start searching for the pair. Shots are exchanged with Cameron the clear winner. He questions the one wounded man about why they were chasing Martell. Cuban agents they are not, nor is their any father involved, they are henchmen from a Havana casino. The dear Martell had stolen a cool half million from their boss. The man then gasps and dies before Cameron can get any more info.

While Cameron has been having this chat, Martell has boarded the one boat and taken off. She also sabotaged Cameron's boat preventing any chase. At least he still has the boat and the grand she gave him in Havana.

The episode was directed Frank Arrigo. Arrigo started out as an art director before becoming a TV helmsman. (b/w)
