Chippendales opened in 1979 at a club that had been a disco called Destiny II. Originally it was a nightclub but owner Steve Bannergee had then decided to turn into a disco with male strippers, the club finally closed it's doors on December 15, 1988, located at 3739 Overland Avenue, and the building is now an adult daycare center.
