Sport Of The Week

In Surf's Up,Jon and Ponch are transferred to Malibu Beach. They deal with problems like a thief who specializes in stealing surfers' vans. Also they deal with an abandoned infant and a teenager who has a grudge against the police.

In addition to that,Ponch talks to a couple girls who witnessed an accident. As the man tries to explain how the accident happened, he's distracted by girls in bikinis. It's pretty obvious how the accident happened. When Ponch comes back, he tells Jon that they're set up on a date with the girls.

The Jet Ski riding in this episode is considered the first "sport of the week" that was seen on the show. Done to attract viewers with exotic sports, the "sport of the week" is much more common in later episodes of the TV show. This definitely increases viewership especially among TV fans who love sports.
