Ponch gets a taste of his own medicine when he is given the assignment of training a new patrol officer, much like his earlier days when Jon had to train the difficult Poncherello. Ponch's problem is compounded by he fact the new officer is an attractive woman which makes his girlfriend jealous. A couple of purse snatchers work the crowds at the marina while some escaped felons are looking for buried treasure in an unusual place. Written by

The first female CHP Motor Officer was Ramona Murray who became a motor officer in 1980. Murray (now Prieto) is now the Deputy Commissioner of the CHP, the #2 position on the department. She started on the CHP in the last cadet training class of 1977 and graduated the Academy in 1978. See more
In the initial pursuit, the suspects in the stolen city police car are reported as "rolling code 3", or lights and siren. They are not using either. When Bear pulls out to pursue them, he also does not activate his overhead light bar, nor does Ponch use the red lights while pursuing on the motorcycle. See more
