Trivia

Harlan's driver license number is Z9023741, and his address is 9246 Beech Dr. in Los Angeles 90222. The license number format is invalid for California circa 1982 and the address does not exist as of 2015. See more »

Goofs

Poncherello sweet-talks Deena into recovering his address book from the computer, telling her that her name is there with a star by it. The circa 1982 computer shown was unable to display graphical characters such as stars. However, he was speaking in a figurative sense, as the systems of that day did allow the use of asterisks, which many people referred to as stars, and used them the way Poncherello did. See more »

Quotes

Officer Arthur Grossman: [while talking to Deena and trying to impress her] I've been reading an interesting book, maybe you've heard of it: "The Application of COBOL BIOS to Sequential Logic and Symbolic Instruction Codes." It says success with computers depends entirely on syntax.

Hackers
10 August 2013 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

In "Overload", two guys steal a valuable box of computer chips after one hides in the back of a truck overnight. Soon after, they are involved in an accident, and an old lady sees the guy in the back.

Jon and Ponch's as well as the CHP's investigation is made harder because the brother of one of the robbers has hacked the CHP computer that has affected their database. This also resulted into paycheck problems for the employees of CHP.

This is a good episode in the sense that we see how hackers have made an impact to the computers used by the CHP.Despite that the fact the the computers and equipment used are dated compared to present times, the problems created by hackers remain relevant at present times. Also,we see how Jon and Ponch deal with it.
