CHiPs Presents Kids As Helpful To Them
4 August 2013 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

In the episode entitled,Karate,Ponch's karate skills earn him respect among some kids at a youth center. And later these kids help our CHP officers turn in one of their own who had been stealing vehicles.

After the CHP briefing, Ponch and Jon go looking for more information on the stolen bikes. After they visit a youth center, some kids are trying to break into Ponch's car. Ponch and Jon chase after them in Ponch's car but get pulled over by the LAPD. The officer is a jerk and gives them a hard time. After they threaten the officer, they go looking for the crime boss, Andy Macedon.

That night, the CHP officers are at the youth center with Ponch and Jon looking for Danny. The rest of the CHP is there to show off their talents to the kids. Everyone is interested in Ponch's karate lessons and Bonnie's gymnastics. Also,Ponch is giving Karate lessons when Andy Macedon shows up and picks a fight with him. Ponch refuses to fight and they call it a night.

The next night, Ponch shows up at Andy Macedon's secret meeting. He has a fight with Andy and beats the crap out of him. It ends with people willing to turn him in and prove he's a crook.

This episode clearly shows why one can watch CHiPs with their kids.Aside from the fact that it does not cater to violence such as killing criminals when capturing them nor using violence as a means for citizens to obedience to the law, they also present kids in it as being helpful to CHP officers. Also, another great thing about it is the fact that CHP officers are presented here as being great influence and role models towards kids.
