Trivia

As he had done in CHiPs: Trained for Trouble (1982), the stunt rider portraying Baker performs a wheelie on the police motorcycle. This time it was after "Ponch" got on the rear of the motorcycle so they could overtake the runaway orange VW. See more »

Goofs

After the orange VW is hit and begins to roll downhill, the owner is shown jumping onto the running board. The road ahead is shown to level out and then go uphill, so the extended downhill sequence shown was impossible. See more »

Against A Former CHP officer
10 August 2013 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

In the episode entitled "Ice Cream Man", a former CHP sergeant named Tom, out of prison,is now working as an ice cream man.He sets out to bring down the gang that got him put in jail. Jon and Ponch suspect he may be back in touch with his old criminal friends. In the process,he also tries to set things right with his ex-wife and son, who thinks his father is dead.

This episode makes is somewhat melodramatic especially during the reunion of Tom and his son at the end. Also,we get tho see Jon and Ponch up against someone who is well-informed on how the CHP works and how they both outclass Tom in his criminal activities by catching him in the end.One of the better episodes of the 5th season.
