Did You Know?

Randi Oakes during the filming of the truck crashing into the partrol car, accidentally broke her nose while banging her head on the dash, and ended up having her second rhinoplasty shortly after that scene was filmed in 1981. See more »

When Cory talks to Baker and Poncherello he says he lost his star (left the CHP implying his arrest and conviction) 6 years ago. When Cory talks to his ex-wife he tells her it was 5 years ago.

Cory tells his wife that it was his decision to have her lie to their son 5 years ago, not that he was convicted 5 years ago. Cory may have thought up the dead-father scheme while in jail, so he could have been convicted 6 years prior and come up with the scheme the following year. See more »

Against A Former CHP officer
10 August 2013 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

In the episode entitled "Ice Cream Man", a former CHP sergeant named Tom, out of prison,is now working as an ice cream man.He sets out to bring down the gang that got him put in jail. Jon and Ponch suspect he may be back in touch with his old criminal friends. In the process,he also tries to set things right with his ex-wife and son, who thinks his father is dead.

This episode makes is somewhat melodramatic especially during the reunion of Tom and his son at the end. Also,we get tho see Jon and Ponch up against someone who is well-informed on how the CHP works and how they both outclass Tom in his criminal activities by catching him in the end.One of the better episodes of the 5th season.
