Trivia

Cory is shown to be staying at the "Holland Hotel" located at 126 W. D Street in Los Angeles. While there was and is a Holland Hotel in Los Angeles, it is located at 1404 W. 7th Street. The D Street address was an actual address, as the building used in 1982 is still standing as of 2015. See more »

Goofs

Several radio errors are spoken: When Clark responds to the stolen truck alert, she says "LA 15 on National from Pico". She fails to ID her unit, which is 7 Charles. Despite using the proper "15" frequency designator earlier at the crash, when Cory calls in the bogus truck sighting, he says "LA 79 this is Mary 12". The 79 indicates he is on the "Pink" West LA CHP frequency although he is transmitting on the "Black" Central CHP frequency. Additionally he does not fully identify his unit, as there would be a number prior to the Mary 12. See more »

Against A Former CHP officer
10 August 2013 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

In the episode entitled "Ice Cream Man", a former CHP sergeant named Tom, out of prison,is now working as an ice cream man.He sets out to bring down the gang that got him put in jail. Jon and Ponch suspect he may be back in touch with his old criminal friends. In the process,he also tries to set things right with his ex-wife and son, who thinks his father is dead.

This episode makes is somewhat melodramatic especially during the reunion of Tom and his son at the end. Also,we get tho see Jon and Ponch up against someone who is well-informed on how the CHP works and how they both outclass Tom in his criminal activities by catching him in the end.One of the better episodes of the 5th season.
