It has been well established that Ponch is an expert in karate, yet when Ponch fights with Jake Carr in his (Ponch's) apartment, Ponch doesn't use any karate moves or stances. Instead, it looks like a street brawl, and an undisciplined one at that. Ponch has plenty of opportunities to use various objects as weapons (Carr is armed with a pistol), as there are lamps lying around, yet the only thing he used as a weapon is a framed lithograph, which is probably the least effective found-object weapon in the entire apartment.
