Laura Branigan sang Lee Holdridge's "A Love Until The End of Time" for this episode, but that song was never released. However, Placido Domingo and Maureen McGovern have sung the song as a duet and it is available on CD.
Vanessa's car is a custom-built 1982 Mercury LN7 convertible. The car was not available as a convertible from the factory, and only 28 were ever made.
After Ponch meets Vanessa he says, "I'm gonna marry that girl." Beverly Adams, who played Poncherello's girlfriend Vanessa, was engaged to Erik Estrada at the time, but they in fact never married.
Unlike earlier episodes where Poncherello (and usually Baker) would basically have a girlfriend of the week with little screen time, a greater amount of screen time is shown for Poncherello and Vanessa's relationship.
