Tom Reilly who plays this episode's main character Rick Nichols returns next season as Bobby Nelson replacing co-lead Jon Larry Wilcox. See more »

Both Nakura and Getraer call the missile either an M2 Arrow or simply an Arrow missile, which is also incorrect as there has never been any such missile in the US inventory. The actual missile used appears to be an AIM-7 Sparrow. This was a "dumb" air-to-air missile and needed an external radar source for guidance so it could not be used for a ground target. See more »

Officer Jon Baker: Typical?
Officer Frank Poncherello: Sure. Crooks just can't escape the long arm of the law, Jon. You know that. Don't you?

Final Appearance Of Officer Jon Baker
10 August 2013 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Force Seven is marked the final appearance of Larry Wilcox, who played Officer Jon Baker,Ponch's partner for the first 5 seasons of CHiPs.Also,it was considered one of the worse or if not the worst episode of CHiPs considering that the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) Secret Force was in action and not the CHP.

The show started when Ponch and Jon spot a speeding drunk and pull it over under an overpass. Jon finds confidential military secrets which fall out of the car. Then,a young officer named Rick Nichols, played by Tom Reilly, who played next season's Bobby Nelson, the new partner of Ponch, reports to Lt. John LeGarre for assignment with a martial arts group named "Force Seven". Shortly, the Force Seven group gets an assignment to recover a stolen missile. Then after gathering enough clues,Rick and the LAPD Secret Force Seven Group successfully disarm the warhead just before it detonates.Later, at CHP Central, Getraer meets Ponch and Jon in the hallway and congratulates them for their accomplishment despite the fact that the LAPD Force Seven did most of the work.

Aside from Larry Wilcox, this was also the final appearance of Randi Oakes, who played CHP Officer Bonnie Clark; and Brodie Greer, who portrayed CHP Barry Baricza. They would certainly be missed in the next and final season of CHiPs as the producers and Erik Estrada finally realized that Estrada wasn't the main reason for the show's success and could not carry the show on his own in the 6th season. The producers also learned that Larry Wilcox was definitely vital to the show's popularity.
