Protesters are protesting at a nuclear weapon plant and the CHP prepares for crowd control. The protesters include Sgt. Getraer's daughter Ellen. A young boy is hit by a car and Poncherello suspects child abuse when he sees bruises. Harlan announces he is leaving for the LAPD.

The bus crashes en route to the demonstration. CHP officers would be at the demonstration site well in advance of any protesters or workers, yet they are shown still on patrol. In the prior scene, the clock in the CHP squad room read about 8:50 AM, well past when workers would be arriving for day jobs. Later at the plant, Getraer says it is 8 o'clock, and it is clearly morning so it is 8 AM. See more »

In Fallout,the CHP officers gear up for duty at a no-nukes demonstration.Ponch and Bobby discover that Sgt. Getraer's daughter,Ellen is one of the protesters.Also,they give a ticket to the driver of an old school bus carrying "No Nukes" protesters.

In addition to that,Ponch helps a young boy who's been hit by a car, and suspects his stepfather is beating him after he finds bruising on the boy's back.Ponch, Bobby, and Bruce chase after the step-father as he leaves the hospital. The arrest him after he crashes into several parked cars.

This episode presents an anti-Nuke message.Also,we get to see another issue about anti-child abuse.These messages makes it worth watching.
