A weird extortion scheme
15 April 2013 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This episode takes Mike and Bob Brannagan to Las Vegas to investigate a nasty extortion scheme. The extortionist sent a doll with a disfigured face to a showgirl, Donna, with a note saying that if she doesn't pay up, he will disfigure her. She doesn't pay and sure enough is injured. When another performer gets a doll with a note threatening to expose his past, he understandably pays off the extortionist. Donna is then killed and the Brannagans work with Donna's friend to expose the killer/ extortionist. It's all rather implausible and is only saved from a lower rating because of the appearance of Jackie Coogan as the obnoxious club comedian, Wally Blue. Coogan was a well known child actor whose most famous adult role was as Uncle Festus in the Addams Family television show.
