First of all, the title of this episode is wrong. It's actually called "Rules of the Game," according to the DVD box set.
The first thing I noticed about this episode is Jeanne Cooper, who is best known for her long role on Young and the Restless. She, of course, has played in other Westerns. I know I've seen her in The Big Valley and The Monroes.
This is classic Branded - my favorite part is when Jason is being sworn in as a deputy and he says his name without hesitation, but he suddenly realizes what everyone is thinking. He's gone from hero to outcast in less than a second. Another part I really like is the very end when he's thrown his sword and he catches it.
