Cory is hoping for a basketball for Christmas, Shawn brags about how many gifts he's getting for Christmas, but the way he goes about it is very telling. Later that evening, Cory's dad apprises Cory that Shawn's dad got laid off. It turns out, Cory is getting a basketball after all and decides to give it to Shawn. Shawn gets incensed when Cory reveals that he gave the basketball to him because of his dad being laid off and doesn't want to be a charity case. Cory thinks Shawn is being selfish. Meanwhile, Morgan is traumatized over being called a "Demon Child" by an elf because she inadvertently gave Santa a heart attack. What a classic episode this is. It's full of laughs and situations that will warm your heart. People interpret Christmas in different ways. Christians believe it is the day to celebrate Jesus's birthday, others find solace in receiving gifts, while others find solace in giving. This episode delivers a perfect message about what Christmas is truly about. I was really impressed with how it managed to abstain from being preachy. Christmas isn't about gifts, it's a time of happiness and spending time with your loved one's. Some of us don't have the money to get extravagant gifts. Shawn's storyline is very moving and emotional. Rider Strong did an excellent job of conveying his emotions in this one. Minkus has some screen time, dealing with Shawn. Topanga is still in her "strange" phase and doesn't have much to do in this one. Funniest moment for me is when Morgan is hiding and Eric says "HO, HO, HO...OH! OH OH" (Making a heart attack noise, in case you were confused) This can be watched on Christmas or anytime of the year. It's a classic
