Rue McLanahan!

Cory is set to go fishing with his Dad and Shawn, but his Grandma (Rue McLanahan) makes an unexpected visit. Cory gets promised to go see Cal Ripken Jr and Eric gets promised to see some bikini models. Grandma creates a conundrum when she fails to fulfill her promise to Cory by failing to show up, making Cory miss out on the fishing trip. Meanwhile, Eric gets a bikini model to write his name on her arm and gets asked by Mr. Feeny to entertain his niece Jessica (Keri Russel). Eric gets a crush on her immediately and manipulates his younger sister Morgan to be impressionable on Jessica, but their romance makes Mr. Feeny a bit uneasy. Before I get started, I just wanna say one thing... RUE McLANAHAN! Golden Girls is another favorite show of mine, so I roared almost as loud as the audience did when she first appeared. She is absolutely wonderful as the grandma. It was a stark contrast from her Blanche role. She is far more wild than Blanche. Even Eric is hilarious in this one and very charming. I thought it was cute when he was teaching Morgan to act cute for girls. As a matter of fact, he stole some scene's with his show. A young Keri Russell proves why she would be successful in Hollywood.I thought she was gorgeous. The message here is that you can't place expectations on undependable people. Everything rang true in this episode, from raging hormones to disappointment. It ranks up there with one of the best episodes of season one
