Did You Know?

When Angela says "You just gotta ride it out, like an earthquake." You can see that the words "like an earthquake" were added in post-production. She appears to be saying "like a hurricane." Given that this episode aired just a few weeks after hurricane Katrina devastated the southern Gulf coast of the US in August, 2005. See more »

The plot concerns the death of the head of the Arab-American Friendship League. However, this person, Hamid Masruk, is explicitly stated to be Afghani, and Afghanis are not Arabs. This is not explained or commented on throughout the episode. See more »

Dr. Jack Hodgins: [Angela tells them she talked to Booth's girlfriend] She's *spying* for you?
Dr. Temperance Brennan: No. No!
Zack Addy: If you have nothing in common, it's difficult to sublimate intense sexual attraction.
[Bones glares at Zack]
Zack Addy: And we hear it's been a while.
Dr. Temperance Brennan: Okay, stop.
Angela Montenegro: He is *there* for the taking, honey.
Special Agent Seeley Booth: [Booth arrives] Okay I couldn't get his medical records.
[everyone stops and looks at Booth]

The Chemistry has already started
9 July 2016 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

As far as the story line goes, there's nothing unusual or exciting there. Conclusions are drawn that the Muslim who blew up was a terrorist...

The chemistry between Booth and Brennan is there already. They work closely together with romantic tension that makes them argue (love the B & B arguments!) Angela goes out of her way to encourage they take their relationship to the next level. Unfortunately, we'll endure years of romantic tension before it explodes...

The ending with B & B is a bit sad - neither is happy and neither wants to leave the other. Of course, they do.

I like Zack in these beginning episodes. He gets a bit creepy in the third season. The other squints just seem a bit disjointed from each other, but eventually they all get close...
