Their outlaw skills have eroded
bkoganbing6 April 2020
In case you are wondering these are not the same Younger Brothers who were cousins and rode with Frank and Jesse James. No these three, Strother Martin, Ted Gehring and Chuck McCann have spent the past dozen years in prison and upon leaving commit their one successful crime in their return to the wrong side of the law. They lift the warden's wallet.

Twelve years in the joint and their outlaw skills have eroded. Of course you could make the argument that they weren't much to begin with seeing them in action. The other reviewer was right, it was like watching the 3 Stooges with Strother Martin as Moe.

Of course they run into Dan Blocker who is carrying $10,000.00 in cash. But eventually Hoss outwits them in the end.

Note a nice performance by Henry Jones as an over the hill sheriff. Another Bonanza comedy treat.

You don't have to think. Just laugh!

When I see any Western with Strother Martin in it, I know I'm in for a good time. Especially when he's the mastermind. Add good old Hoss into the mix and now the party starts. You need a slap-happy Bonanza every now and then and Michael Landon did the job.

User reviewers should check YOUR reviews!

Think maybe the user reviewers should start coming back and checking the reviews THEY received! So i've been curiously following this idea. Bottom line is, if you're not a TRUE Bonanza fan, you might not want to bother. The reason i call (us) "TRUE" fans is that there will always be something good about EVERY episode! And if not, a TRUE fan would NEVER admit it! The high and mighty Cartwrights can do no wrong!! ... you see? So maybe now you're thinking "that's not fair! i'm entitled time my opinion and i'm gonna express it!" i agree and you should go for it! Just please don't be surprised when you get few or none of the "thumbs up-found this useful" from ppl. See, you can talk poo on our show all you like. Just don't ever expect to be rewarded for it!

Fantastic episode with laugh- out scenes

Warning: Spoilers
From the very beginning, this episode had so many laughs and plot twists that I was amazed that Michael Landon was able to turn out such a fun story. I have to admit, this episode reminded me of the old Warner Brother's cartoons and The Three Stooges, which by the way, I love them both. The performances of the lead actors were wonderful. As always, Strother Martin was just perfect in this role. Dan Blocker had some of the most outrageously funny looks on his face that I am sure he had a blast making this episode. I have always loved Bonanza for it's drama and involving stories and beautiful location scenery but when a good comedy episode comes on, I get really excited. Please check out this episode and I believe you will enjoy it as much as I did.

This was the worst show Landon wrote,
zorob1-124 April 2011
This was a painfully bad episode. I can't begin to say how bad. No one tried to be good. The shamless mugging Landon did on screen when he appeared showed he was bored playing Little Joe. Lorne Greene at least tried to put some effort into the episode. Strother Martin was always one of my favorite character actors and feel he was under used and only there for a paycheck. It was one of the last shows of the 13th season and was produced to just have an episode in the can. Michael Landon was capable of better work than this. I always loved Dan Blocker and thought he was a great under rated actor. A true natural on the screen it was sad this was the last show featuring him in the lead role for an episode.
